About the Role

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Digital Workplace Manager and Operations & Infrastructure Manager, the Platform Engineer’s primary responsibilities includes deployment, support, and integration of Information Security tools, NGFW Threat Management (IPS, Web Filtering, Anti-Malware), Endpoint and Identity / Access Management (IAM) technologies & virtual desktops on-prem & cloud.

The candidate will need to hold extensive knowledge of design & implementation of virtual desktops on-prem & cloud as they will be building a new environment (Citrix VDI from scratch) and integrating security tools into this new environment. 

Experience and knowledge around Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) technologies, DLP, Vulnerability Scanning, experience of engineering and administering end point security applications including full disk encryption, HIDS, NAC, cloud-based storage, mobile technologies, IDS/IPS, NGFW and anti-virus will be very useful. 

The candidate will have contact with internal stakeholders, other information technology (IT) professionals, and vendors so is required to identify, research, analyse, and resolve complex issues and problems.

Required Specialist/Technical Knowledge:
▪ Designing, Engineering, and deploying Citrix Virtual Applications and Desktops
▪ Strong technical knowledge of virtualization solutions (Virtual Apps, Virtual desktop, PVS, AppSense, NetScaler, FSlogix, VMware (vSphere) and Cloud Gateway.
▪ Manage multiple XenApp / XenDesktop images through monthly image updates.
▪ Strong/Advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
▪ Knowledge of Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
▪ Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and environments.
▪ Familiar with Zero Trust solutions like Enterprise Browser.
▪ Process automation: ability to use advanced scripting language, i.e., PowerShell.
▪ System monitoring; Splunk, Datadog and ControlUp preferred.
▪ Knowledge of IP network design and principles, Windows OS, Intel-based hardware configurations and components for workstations and servers; security best practices; MS Active Directory; Storage Area Network technologies; system monitoring and event analysis; virtualization concepts and technologies; Group Policy.
