About the Role
Trident Search have been retained to hire a Principal Intelligence Consultant for a cyber firm specialising in ransomware disruption. With a focus on identifying, unmasking, and mitigating threats from the dark web, their customers are granted innovative intelligence solutions, that support their security and ensure fast responses to cyber incidents.
As a Principal Intelligence Consultant you will provide intelligence-driven insights, support sales and post-sales processes, and integrate intelligence into client workflows. To be successful in doing so, you will have deep expertise in cyber security operations and customer engagement. It is crucial for you to be immersed in dark web engagement methodology, and have hands-on experience with tools for threat intelligence, and network telemetry.

As a Principal Intelligence Consultant you will provide intelligence-driven insights, support sales and post-sales processes, and integrate intelligence into client workflows. To be successful in doing so, you will have deep expertise in cyber security operations and customer engagement. It is crucial for you to be immersed in dark web engagement methodology, and have hands-on experience with tools for threat intelligence, and network telemetry.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Success:
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and specific support
- Utilise tools like HubSpot to maximise customer engagement, drive retention, and minimise churn rates
- Manage a portfolio of $3M–$5M in ARR, overseeing 10–20 client accounts with strategic intelligence consulting
- Lead client meetings, prepare agendas, and facilitate operations calls to ensure seamless service delivery to their customers
- Attend and participate in up to three industry conferences annually, representing the company and staying current on emerging trends
Intelligence Operations:
- Leverage intelligence platforms such as Shodan, DomainTools, Team Cymru, and The Hive to provide actionable insights
- Apply MITRE ATT&CK mapping to identify adversary tactics and techniques, aligning intelligence findings with real-world threat scenarios
- Analyse network telemetry data, log stealer data, and other technical indicators to identify vulnerabilities and offer mitigation strategies
- Utilise a dark web engagement methodology to identify, monitor, and disrupt cyber criminal activity
- Provide intelligence enrichment, offering clients a comprehensive understanding of their threat environment
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product, and R&D, to streamline processes and enhance product development based on client feedback
- Support both pre-sales and post-sales functions by providing technical expertise, assisting with solution design, and guiding clients through implementation
- Integrate cyber security solutions into existing client infrastructure, ensuring seamless deployment and operational alignment
Adaptability in Dynamic Environments:
- Operate effectively in fast-paced, constantly evolving environments, addressing both internal and external demands in real-time.
- Provide after-hours support as needed, including weekends and holidays, ensuring comprehensive coverage for clients
- Stay current with emerging threats on the dark web, adapting intelligence strategies to meet evolving security challenges
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years in the cybersecurity field, with a strong background in customer success, cyber security integrations and intelligence operations
- Bonus points for military service related to cybersecurity or intelligence operations
- Proficiency in threat intelligence tools, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, network telemetry, and log stealer data analysis
- Strong familiarity with cyber threat models (e.g., kill chain, diamond model) and adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- Experience with dark web engagement methodologies and disrupting cyber criminal operations
- Proven ability to manage high-value client portfolios and ensure long-term engagement and retention
- Experience utilising customer success platforms such as HubSpot to drive success metrics
- Expertise in dark web intelligence and operational methodologies
- Experience in mentoring teams on technical investigations and threat detection strategies
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GIAC) are a plus
